Looks like this guy is going to be hanging out for a while. Yep lopped off his tail, bad angle, bad light, typical hawk thing.

Away from home today, tried my hand at something besides wildlife, again
What I've wanted to try..Young squirrels in full play mode, actually in sq world it is learning survival skills along with the play.
This is a trial run, I hope to do better next time, but I wasn't ever going to know what it might take unless I gave it a go. Some issues to overcome.
This is always going to happen in the worst light possible
You have to get outside w/o spooking them or disrupting the event. Oh and try to get in half good position.
Next time I'll up the ISO to 1600 and then I can + the EC and stop down a bit, these shots need more DOF, and not tank the shutter speed..I hope. So yep noise, more motion blur than I would like etc. etc.

I so enjoy watching these guys play, they are so fluid, like quicksilver, in their movement I want to capture that if I can.

More below, shots are in order not in sequence..Muffed quite a few, the 1st one is the worst of the ones posted

shows his very pretty markings well. I like the way the branches angle into him to focus my eyes on him. LS
