This is a fitting shot for the day, good thing since it is the ONLY shot of the day.
To make a long story short, last night a bunch of thumping around inside the clothes dryer. Don said "it's a mouse" OooKy sounds like a pretty big mouse to me. This morning the same thumping around and then a swack thump in the basement..aha the dryer vent just came off the dryer, bingo, what was in the dryer is now in the basement. Dryer vents down and then though a bit of the basement to the outside. Suer enough when I checked the vent was off. Don gets home goes to take a look and yep an adult Bun had somehow got into the vent pipe and once in was pretty committed to going forward.. netted Bun and outside he went, this shot is of a youngster I saw shortly after.
Oh as Don was fixing the part that is on the outside of the house (flap had jammed open) a chipmunk jumped out of that end at him.:-)

on September 2, 2006Snappy I would have never thought an adult bun could get in the little vent cap thing on the outside of the house much less clear up the 4" dryer vent pipe!
Thanks Ladies

on September 2, 2006Nice shot. Neat story. I'd better get out there and check my dryer vent. We've got a pack rat under the deck again. He keeps piling up stuff on the deck next to the house. There is a little space between the deck and the house where he goes in. He had a little row of green peaches there yesterday.

on September 2, 2006Mom4, your correct the color was a bit off, corrected that this Am, more believeable now?;-)
Rat crossed my mind, I would have been GONE until it was.
Rick was was quite relieved that the Bun didn't get freaked and I'm a pretty fair hand with a capture net so that went very smooth. Bun started eating as soon as he/she was released. However this little guy, I always shoot wilds in bursts of 3, went postal as soon a he heard the thawack of the 20D shutter:)) Below frame 2, frame 3 nothin but grass.

on September 2, 2006What a great story, I'm cracking up! At least it was something cute! Here in California it would probably turn out to be a roof rat, or something nasty like that. I was bad...didn't shoot at all today. (Didn't take a lunch hour either!)
