on June 23, 2006I like what you were attempting to catch, Thusie. The scalloped lines of the fence sloping along with the sloping grassy hill. Pretty scene. I think cropping out some of the top and making it more of a horizontal might be an improvement. Or....a squirrel???

on June 23, 2006I like your crop Vandana, I need visuals:-) Once it quits raining I think I'll try for a re-shoot. The 400 as a snap shot lens isn't a real hot idea. So yes you make perfect sense and thanks.

on June 23, 2006I agree with Chandi somewhat that there is no one subject to concentrate on here, too many elements of interest - the foreground grass, fence, flowers, the tree behind; but I'm still not sure how to crop it best - I did a tighter one here but maybe if you try reshooting - I'd try focusing on the flowers, use a relatively low DOF, standing on one side of the fence, and have sort of a OOF fence leading the eye to or from the flowers. that way we could concentrate on the flowers and fence.
did I make any sense ;)??!

on June 23, 2006I love the flowers, Thusie! I think it is a fine photo......perhaps not a wall hanger, but a nice photo of something in your life! ginger

on June 23, 2006But now if you go back, you can have two different views. :)

on June 23, 2006Chandi, as you probably know this is rather outside what I usually shoot and I'm not real hot at cropping. Would you be so kind as to show me what your idea is? Please?

on June 23, 2006This appears to be a very neat pic Thusie - but my eyes were searching for something to hold onto amidst all the nice things. Maybe a tighter crop on the fence? Or maybe a more angled fence line? The lighting is perfect though!
